Week 36
Why does MCMurphy fight Nurse Ratched?
The Nurse is obsessed with the need to control her patients and her ward. She cherishes order, authority, and conformity. McMurphy is a rebel, a nonconformist. Intitially, he fights her because she imposes regulations which limit his freedom. His first battles, eg. the World Series episode, may be largely self-serving; he manipulates the patients as well as the staff to assert his will. But gradually, as Mac begins to comrehend the extent of Nurse Ratched's power over the staff, the other patients, and himself, he challenges her authority for nobler reasons...pay attention to these reasons during your readings.
Have a good week and we will talk more!

Thanks for the updates, Mr Di Leo.
I regret to inform you that Mrs. Collesano was persistent that the picnic is happening regardless of weather! Suppose we should all bring umbrellas...just in case.
Bwhaha.

Hey Mr. Di Leo, I began working on my essay only to realize I have another one due tomorrow, as well as an art history project thingy.
Isn't that tedious? ;)
If I sound mildly suggestive of an extension, I probably am. If that isn't acceptable, I'll do my best to squeeze at least a 4 out of my time. =]

Hi Mr. Di Leo!
I'm sooooo stressed out right now because I have soooooooooo many things that are due tomarrow! I just got an art history project and an essay from Mr. Mahn that were assigned today and are due tomarrow....
Also, I found out that we have a chemistry test tomarrow.....
I'm very sorry about ranting, but I've been working on homework since I got home at 2:50 and I still have'nt even gotten to the essays!I would greatly appreciate an extension... even if I had to write one more essay on top of that for monday.
Thanks....
-Leandra
* rushes off to do more homework.
Bonjour Mr. DiLeo!
This Regents essay (the compare/contrast) isn't very fun. I don't know if I am writing about the right thing. Never thought I would say this, but I might like the AP essay questions better. OH, and this complaining has nothing to do with the fact that Leandra and Mark just posted, nothing at all... :)
okay leandra...fyi the assignments I give usually have a cushion,,,I never give an assignment due the next day....this means that you need to structure other assignments around my course...factor other courses...forsee conflicts....do not procrastinate....
okay
why is mr. mahn and the art project my problem?????
Haha, it really isn't. Other teachers are much more spontaneous than you..as we make plans to get something done around a certain schedule, they introduce time consuming things unexpectedly, making things rather chaotic.
I'm almost back to starting on the essay...I can remain awake for at least 4 more hours with a half-normal attention span so I should be able to get it all done..
Oh, that was Mark.

And Stacy just used a ridiculous acronym!
Sorry I didn't finish, I'll bring all 3 essays (the other 2 were in my locker..heh) on Monday, I swear!

Blogs =/= fanfiction Stacy :)
IMHO, it is a blog dealing with the subject of english, not subject of online acronyms. BFN!

So just made something up so I could use that.
